Yesterday morning the Wife and I discovered the Little One awake in his crib, resting on his stomach. We knew it would happen eventually, but this was the first time he had rolled from his back to his stomach on his own.
The kid was proud as a peacock as he pushed up with his arms and puffed his chest out. It was a bigger smile than normal, and he seemed to know he had done something a little bit special. Just to add to the moment, he started rolling from side to side, showing just how good he is getting at this trick.
It's a weird combination of feelings, being so excited to see your child develop and become more confident in himself. At the same time, it seems like they grow too fast. Try as you might, it's impossible to slow time down and keep them a baby forever.
The Little One is growing in many ways every day. He excites himself with each new discovery he makes.
We can't wait to see what he's going to discover tomorrow.
I love the first roll...it is in some ways better than the first step. first steps always seem a bit scary to the wee ones...but the first roll that is just fun and exciting. yAY...so happy for you guys Pam
